Our summer adventures... continue

Ordinary things seem to be more like adventures with Brooks around. We are having a lot of fun taking him on these little adventures. Recently we visited the Stacey Aviary with Kyle, Erin, Mary and Jack. This was actually very cool. I had never been to an Aviary before. The coolest bird there was the Condor... he reminded us of the "bad guys" on the Dark Crystal. They also had a Bald Eagle that was a pretty awesome sight. The sad thing... the eagles are birds that have been wounded and can no longer fly. It made me sad to think how it would feel to be a bird and not be able to fly anymore :(. Here are some pics we took:

Pat and I took Brooks to the petting zoo at Gardner's Village. Which consisted mostly of goats (which explains all the pictures of goats), but there were also chicken, geese, hogs, sheep, ponies, a cow and a donkey. Brooks had a great time I think he managed to give kisses to all the goats, luckily this was mostly just getting close to their faces and making the 'muah' sound.

Brooks is getting bigger and bigger every day. In fact Pat jokes that every morning he must have grown in his sleep. I think it might actually be true. He isn't talking much yet. He says "Hi", "Hot" and we got him to say "Ice" the other day. He does know his body parts though, which is the cutest dang thing ever. He can find his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, toes and belly button. The funniest is when he shows us his noes. He points to it with one finger and taps it a few times. It reminds me of sherades (sp?) :).
