The Treck to Northern country...

So it is official, we live in Salt Lake now... well Sandy to be precise. The first week we came up we stayed with Erin and Kyle. Then we found an apartment in Sandy and started moving in the next week. Uhaul trucks are SO expensive to rent so we instead have made a few trips back and forth. Which I don't think is necessarily saving us any money... I started my new job at LDS Hospital in Health Information Management on the March 11th. I'm working part-time Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:00 to 3:30. It's been very strange returning to work after being home with Brooks this last year. Pat still doesn't have a job yet and he has been staying home with Brooks while I go to work. That alone has made working and leaving Brooks TONS easier for me. I've had a few crying bouts on the way to work. B wakes up while I'm trying to get ready and I have to listen to him screaming and it wrenches at my heart. I just try to keep thinking, it's only three days and I'm helping provide for our family. It's also nice to have something for myself again too. I really enjoy working, it's just funny how guilty and scared I feel sometimes not being with him all day.... ANYWAY :). We really like our apartment, it's really close to the freeway so my commute isn't horrible. It's been challenging going from a 1300 sq ft duplex with a two car garage to a 1000 sq ft apartment with no garage. It's amazing how much stuff you realize you have when you have to down size :D. But we are keeping our eyes open for a house or town home to rent that is in our price range and may allot us some more space. For now Pat and I are reminiscing on our early married years when all we lived in were apartments... Pat is diligently looking for work, so wish him luck on his continuing search!

Welcome back to the work force! I completely relate to the mother's guilt at leaving the kids. One big perk is that Brook will have an even closer relationship with Pat. Good luck finding work (Pat) and establishing yourself in the new frontier. And happy birthday to the boy! I can't believe he's one already!
